Gilles Payette - Glass
Casting glass in sand mold, for doing large sculptural pieces, it is the way to experiment and create my one soul, like the musician with an instrument. I play with the sand to create a mold where glass can take place and be able to give concrete expression of my mind. The final touch is done at the end, when I put the piece on a steel base or on the wall. I try to give through the glass the impression of lightness, sacred and witty. Nature is an esthetic constant in my vocabulary. |
